Bourbon Cousins launches debut collection of bow tie and neckties for bourbon enthusiasts

CINCINNATI, OH – March 15, 2018 – Bourbon Cousins, a pattern design & product development studio located in Cincinnati, OH, today launched its inaugural line of modern, bourbon-themed men’s bow ties and neckties, appropriately named Bourbon Cousins.

Cincinnati residents and pattern designers Pam Houston and Claudia Sandman, originally from Louisville, Ky., co-collaborated on the designs. The two artists are first cousins and bourbon enthusiasts, hence the derivation of the line’s brand name. Both women are members of the Bourbon Women’s Association, a seven-year-old organization now represented in 23 states and three countries.

“Our ties will be sold on the bourboncousins.com website and will soon be available at independent shops throughout the U.S.,” said Houston. “We will also partner with large groups looking to host bourbon-themed events and fundraisers. Going forward, our plan calls for additional bourbon-apparel lines that will include socks, ladies’ scarves, bar towels, and note cards.”

Prior to Bourbon Cousins being formed, Houston was a founder of Cincinnati-based, DeanHouston, Inc., a b-to-b marketing communications firm, now in its 30th year, with offices in Chicago and Los Angeles. Sandman had previously owned and operated an independent branding & web site design firm in Cincinnati and Louisville.

Houston’s and Sandman’s native Kentucky is the birthplace of Bourbon, crafting 95 percent of the world’s supply. According to the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, Bourbon is a “booming $8.5 billion economic engine that generates as many as 17,500 jobs with an annual payroll topping $800 million and pours $825 million into tax coffers each year.
